PRATO is a ceiling light with five white opal glass globes set on straight arms that radiate from a single round canopy. The arms and the canopy are steel lacquered in black, and the globes sit at two different levels, so the fitting is not a flat one. How much ceiling it takes up The fitting spreads across 66 × 66 cm and drops 27 cm below the ceiling. Compare the width with whatever the lamp will hang over — 66 cm is wider than a typical coffee table — and the drop with your room height: under a 2.5 m ceiling the lowest globes finish at roughly 2.2 m. It mounts straight to the ceiling on its round canopy, with no cable or rod suspension. It weighs 2.14 kg, and in a plasterboard ceiling the fixing has to reach the supporting frame. Which bulbs you need to buy The fitting has five G9 sockets and no bulbs are included — you buy five separately. The sources are replaceable, so when one fails you change the bulb rather than the luminaire. The maximum per bulb is 14 W, and that limit matters more than it looks: the weakest G9 halogen capsules commonly sold start above it, so in practice only G9 LED bulbs fit this light. Colour and brightness are therefore your choice at the point of buying the bulbs — for a living room 2700–3000 K, a warm light, is the usual pick. The globes are opal glass, which spreads the light in every direction and hides the bulb itself. Light goes up onto the ceiling and sideways as well as down.
