Marietta is a three-light semi-flush ceiling fitting 40 cm across, with metalwork finished in antique brass plating and a ring filled with vertical rods of clear glass. The rods diffuse the light of the lamps, so the lit points stay visible through the glass while their glare is softened. How much room it takes below the ceiling The fitting measures 40 cm in diameter and drops 39.5 cm below the ceiling. It is a semi-flush build: it is screwed to the ceiling rather than hung on wires or a flex, which is why the manufacturer recommends it for rooms with low ceilings, where a conventional chandelier would be in the way. Those 39.5 cm are worth subtracting from your own ceiling height to see how much headroom is left where the fitting is going — with a 250 cm ceiling the lower edge sits at about 210 cm. The fitting weighs 3.7 kg, and its protection class I means an earth conductor has to reach the ceiling box. Which lamps to buy The fitting holds three E14 lampholders rated up to 7 W each. Lamps are not supplied, so colour and brightness are your choice — the manufacturer specifies E14 LED lamps here and names decorative LED filament golf lamps as the match, which through the clear glass read as part of the composition. The fitting is dimmable, but dimming needs two things bought separately: a dimmer in the circuit and lamps the manufacturer describes as dimmable. An ordinary LED lamp without that marking will flicker or ignore the dimmer altogether. Build The frame is metal with antique brass plating — warmer and less reflective than polished brass. The glass rods are clear and see-through, so both the lamps and the metal frame remain visible behind them. The same Marietta family also includes pendants and a wall light, which makes it possible to match the ceiling fitting with the rest of a home.
