LILLEHAMMER is an up/down outdoor wall light from the Norwegian brand Norlys – a compact rectangular block of 18.5 × 11 × 8 cm in cast aluminium, here in white. Two 60° cones The fitting emits upwards and downwards in two symmetrical 60° cones, through optical glass lenses. It therefore draws a double, symmetrical mark on the façade that picks out the texture of render, brick or timber. The manufacturer quotes ULOR 50% – exactly half the output goes upwards, which is worth allowing for when planning: this is a decorative fitting for a wall, not a means of lighting the ground. 216 lumens – and where that number comes from Inside is an LED module of 5.6 W producing 1,008 lm; what leaves the luminaire is 216 lm, for a draw of 7.27 W. The gap is not an error – it follows from the strongly directional, shielded optics, which gather the light into two narrow cones instead of spilling it sideways. That detail matters: leading-edge dimmers can cause flicker or buzz. Inrush current is 1 A for 15.2 µs – with several fittings on one switch it is worth adding up, because inrush is what trips type B MCBs. IP65 and IK08 – two different kinds of toughness IP65 means fully dust-tight and proof against water jets from any direction – the fitting will take a downpour and being hosed down. IK08 is mechanical: the housing withstands a 5 J impact, roughly a 1.7 kg object dropped from 30 cm. On a façade facing a yard or a driveway that is a real advantage. Protection class I requires an earth conductor. Operating range: −20 to +45 °C. Mounting and wiring The fitting is fixed with two ø5 mm screws at 45 × 130 mm centres. The terminals accept conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², or up to 3 × 1.5 mm² when looping fittings together; the gland takes round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter and is sealed with an EPDM insert. Loop-through is useful for a row of wall lights along a façade: one circuit feeds one fitting to the next without intermediate boxes.
