Orb is a single glass globe 20 cm across, hung on a white cable. The glass is smoke-coloured with a gradient — darker towards the bottom, clearing towards the top, so the bulb stays visible through the upper part while the lower part mutes it. The mounting disc and the lampholder are white, matching the suspension. How low it can hang The manufacturer allows a drop of up to 500 cm — five metres, a figure worked out for a stairwell, an entrance hall or a room open to the floor above. The cable is shortened during installation, so the lamp also works in an ordinary 250 cm room, just with the drop taken well up. The globe measures 20 cm across, noticeably smaller than the usual living-room globes. The same globe exists in this series at 30, 40 and 50 cm, and several are often hung side by side at different heights. Which bulb you have to buy separately There is a single lampholder with an E27 thread, and no bulb is supplied. The manufacturer permits up to 40 W — that is the ceiling for this holder, not the power the lamp puts out; the actual output depends entirely on what you fit. Because the glass is see-through, the shape of the bulb itself also shapes how the lit lamp looks. It can be dimmed, but only if the bulb fitted is itself dimmable — there is no dimming circuit inside the fitting, and the dimmer is installed separately in the wiring. Where it may hang and how it is connected The IP20 rating carries no protection against water, so the mounting place is a dry interior — not a bathroom and not outdoors. Supply is 230 V. The fitting is built to protection class I. That means its metal parts have to be bonded to the PE protective conductor, and that conductor has to be present in the ceiling box.
