Arne White/Gold is a five-light ceiling fitting spanning 60 × 60 cm and standing 37 cm deep. Five white arms curve out of a round canopy, each ending in a brass-gold lampholder and a glass globe whose upper half is matt white and lower half clear. The two-tone shade — why it decides your choice of bulb Splitting the globe into an opal and a clear half is not only decoration: the white top diffuses the light going up towards the ceiling while the clear bottom leaves the bulb on show. That makes the bulb you fit part of the design. A decorative filament lamp in a globe or pear envelope reads through the clear glass exactly as intended; a plain opal bulb will work but will kill the filament pattern the fitting was drawn around. Bear in mind too that the clear section puts the filament in direct view — a very bright lamp will glare if the fitting sits low over a seating area. Five points on one plane Five E27 sockets take lamps of up to 60 W each. With five LED lamps the fitting comfortably lights a living or dining room as the main source, and because every shade sits on one plane close to the ceiling the light spreads wide, without the dark corners a single central fitting leaves. Bulbs are not included. A ceiling fitting, not a pendant At 37 cm deep, Arne mounts straight to the ceiling — there is no cable or drop rod, so it suits standard and lower ceilings where a pendant would take too much room. The white cables looping between the arms and the canopy are deliberately exposed and belong to the look.
