ARDALES is a pendant lamp built in two layers: a crown of flat rectangular plates in brushed gold on top, and beneath it a four-tier cascade of fine gold chains that narrows downwards into a cone. The whole fitting hangs from a rigid rod finished with a square ceiling plate. Size and where to hang it The complete fitting measures 157,8 cm from the ceiling plate to the tip of the longest chains and is 49 cm wide. That is the figure to compare with the height of your own room and with whatever will stand directly underneath — the cascade reaches low and is visible from every side. A width of 49 cm keeps its proportions over a table 80–90 cm wide. Above a tabletop the lamp is usually hung so that the bottom edge of the cascade sits 70–80 cm above the surface: the light then covers the whole top, and the chains stay out of the line of sight of people seated opposite each other. The light ARDALES gives A single integrated LED source runs here, rated 29 W at 3000 K — warm white with a faintly yellow cast, close to the old incandescent bulb. The source is included, so the lamp lights up as soon as it is wired in, but it is built in permanently and cannot be replaced: once it is spent, the whole fitting is replaced. The module sits inside the crown of plates and the chains hang directly below it, so the light travels down through a metal curtain that breaks and reflects it at each tier of the cascade. The fitting runs straight off the 230 V mains. Build and interiors The structure is steel and aluminium finished in brushed gold — matt, with no mirror shine. The plates of the crown are smooth and unprofiled; the drawing of the lamp comes from the proportions and density of the chains rather than from ornament.
