A compartment sits under the lid; safety hinges hold the lid open and reduce pinched fingers. How large it is and where it fits The body is 80 cm wide, 40 cm deep and 50 cm high. On a 120 cm hallway wall, 40 cm remains. In front of a sofa, 40 cm of depth plus 80 cm of clear passage is 120 cm from the sofa edge. 50 cm is the seat height: when putting on shoes the feet rest on the floor. The maker intends it as extra seating in the hallway or as a chest at the foot of the bed. How you sit on it and what it holds The seat is 80 cm wide — at the usual 60 cm per adult that is space for one person, not a bench for two. The maker states 90 kg static load on the seat; the limit is for the whole surface. The compartment under the lid takes 20 kg static. Lid and cushion are one piece, so the chest cannot be assembled without the seat. It has no castors.
