SKI 5113 is an outdoor wall light with a wedge-shaped steel body in black RAL 9005. The top face slopes away from the wall towards the outer edge, and the structured clear polycarbonate lens sits in the underside of the fitting, so all of the light goes downwards. The maker intends it for general and decorative lighting of walls, facades and other architectural schemes. Size and how it fixes The fitting is 20 cm wide, 13 cm high and stands 13.5 cm out from the wall. That last figure is the one that decides whether the light gets in the way in a narrow passage, so compare it with the distance between your wall and the edge of the path or the stairs. The base screws on through two 4.2 mm holes spaced 122 mm apart. The gland takes round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter and the terminals take cores up to 3 x 2.5 mm². The maker allows looping through at up to 3 x 1.5 mm², so a row of these along a facade can run off one supply line instead of a separate spur to each point. How much light it gives The built-in LED module produces 681 lm, of which 432 lm leaves the lens; the rest is held back by the downward optic. 4000 K is neutral white, with no yellow cast, and the whole fitting draws 5.4 W. The light can be dimmed, but only with a trailing-edge dimmer, marked TE or RC. An older leading-edge dimmer labelled R or RL will not work with it, which is worth checking before you buy. Build and servicing The front is hot-dip galvanised or powder-coated steel, the base is hot-dip galvanised steel and the lens is UV-stabilised polycarbonate; a silicone gasket closes the joint. IP44 covers splashing water from any direction, and IK09 is the impact rating. The fitting is protection class I, so the circuit needs an earth conductor. The LED module and the control gear are changed by a professional, and the maker lists both as a service kit, so a failed light source does not end the life of the fitting.
