Wood Arc is the wall fitting on its own: a round, domed ash back plate with the grain left visible, and a curved metal arm in brushed aged brass ending in a brass B22 bayonet lampholder. Endon lists it under “fitting only”, meaning no shade and no lamp. What is in the box and what you still need The box holds the back plate, the arm and a fixing tool — the manufacturer notes that the two parts have to be assembled before mounting. There is no shade: Endon intends it to be paired with a 16 cm or 20 cm fabric shade, bought separately. No lamp is included either. Without a shade the fitting burns a bare lamp, so the shade you choose decides both the look and whether the light falls downwards or spreads sideways. How much wall it takes The back plate is 12 cm across, the whole fitting stands 17 cm tall and projects 16.2 cm from the wall. The shade adds to that: with a 20 cm shade the fitting covers a wider band of wall than the plate alone, worth checking in a narrow hallway or beside a door frame. It weighs 0.2 kg, so the load on the fixing is small — the wall build decides which plugs to use. Which lamp to buy The holder takes a B22 bayonet cap, the British standard; outside the UK and Ireland lamps with this cap are less common than E27, so it is worth ordering the lamp together with the fitting. The manufacturer allows LED lamps up to 7 W and points to decorative B22 filament lamps in their dimmable version. The fitting is dimmable, but dimming only works once the lamp itself is dimmable and a dimmer sits in the circuit — the fitting carries no control gear of its own. Build and installation The metalwork is brass-plated rather than solid brass; the wooden back plate is ash left without an opaque finish, so the grain shows.
