A connector for joining two lengths of 8 mm LED strip without soldering. The PVC body measures 12.7 x 15.5 mm, opens on a snap catch and clamps both strip ends at once. Which strips it fits The connector carries two conductors, so it handles single-colour strip only — it is not suitable for RGB, RGBW or CCT, which need three or four conductors. The manufacturer specifies it for 3528 and 2835 strip 8 mm wide, run at either 12 V or 24 V. Measure your own strip before buying: a 10 mm strip will not enter this body, and the manufacturer offers a separate connector variant for it. Joining without a gap in the line of light Both strip sections go straight into opposite ends of the connector — there is no cable between them. That leaves no dark gap in the lit line, which is what a connector with a lead produces. It is also the limitation: both strips have to meet at the same point, so carrying power round a corner or onto a second shelf calls for the cable version. Closing the catch is all the joint needs — no soldering iron and no crimping tool. When inserting the strip, watch the polarity markings; the connector does not force the correct side. Waterproof strip and where it can go The connector itself is rated IP20, so it is protected against neither water nor dust and works in dry interiors only. The manufacturer does allow it on waterproof strip, but the silicone layer has to be stripped from the strip at the joint first — and once the connector is fitted, that point is no longer sealed.Pokaż więcej
