The JUPITER wall light is a classic sconce on two arched arms rising from a round back plate, with a decorative brass sphere hung beneath it. The steel body carries a patinated brass finish, and the shade is white alabaster glass with a wavy, petal-shaped rim, turned downwards. How big it is and how far it stands off the wall The fitting is 27 cm high and 22 cm wide, but it projects a full 36 cm from the wall — the arms carry the shade well forward. That figure is the one to compare with the space you have: in a hallway, where 80 cm of clear passage is the usual measure, the sconce takes almost half of that margin. The same geometry means the light falls away from the wall rather than right against it, so the fitting lights the space in front of it and not only the plaster behind the shade. The whole piece weighs 1 kg and mounts on the round back plate, which covers a standard wiring box. Which bulb you need to buy There is one E27 socket, and Jupiter caps the bulb at 15 W. That ceiling settles the choice for you: the weakest commonly sold incandescent or halogen lamp is 25 W, so only an LED bulb fits this fitting. No bulb is included, but the source is replaceable, so colour and brightness are yours to pick. A classic interior usually takes 2700 K — warm, slightly yellow light — and around 800 lm matches the old 60 W bulb. Construction and mounting The frame is steel and the shade is glass. The patina over the brass finish sits darker in the recesses of the mouldings, which is where the warm, muted colour comes from instead of an even shine. The glass is opal and marbled, so it diffuses the light and keeps the filament out of sight. Jupiter specifies the sconce for indoor use only and covers it with a five-year warranty.
