EUTRAC is a surface-mounted 3-circuit track to the Eurostandard profile, supplied here as a 3 m length in silver grey. The profile is 3.2 cm high and 3.6 cm wide, and the whole length weighs 3 kg. It runs straight off 230 V — it contains no driver and needs none. What three circuits give you Three independent circuits run inside the profile. Fittings clipped into the same length can therefore be split into three groups and switched separately — the light over a counter on one, the shelving on another, accents on a third. On a single-circuit track everything on the length comes on together. Which of the three circuits feeds a given fitting is set by its adapter as you clip it in. The track itself is only the conductor: the fittings, their adapters, feed-in connectors and end caps are not included and are chosen separately, always in the 3-circuit standard. Length, cutting and mounting Three metres is the figure to hold against the wall or the worktop the track is meant to run over — if you need less, the manufacturer states that the profile can simply be cut to the length you want, with no need to cut or bend the wire ends. Longer runs are built up from several lengths. How high to mount it With halogen light sources the manufacturer gives a minimum installation height of 2.5 m. Below that height it recommends LED sources instead, which run far cooler — that is a real constraint under a low flat ceiling and the first thing to check before buying.
