DOMINO 1651 is a single-light pendant with a white matt glass shade shaped as a cone that narrows towards the top. The shade measures 23 cm across at its lower edge and sits under a collar with a wood-grain pattern that separates it from the black stem. Canopy, cable and lampholder are black, and the whole assembly stands 80 cm tall. How big the fitting is and where to hang it Eighty centimetres is the length of the complete suspension, from the ceiling to the bottom edge of the shade. Over a table it is usually shortened so that the shade sits 70–80 cm above the top — light then falls on the table rather than into the eyes of the people sitting at it. At 23 cm across, the shade is small for a dining pendant: over a top 80–90 cm wide a single one looks modest, so the fitting is either hung over a small table or a kitchen island, or in a row of several over a longer surface. It weighs 1.58 kg, so an ordinary ceiling hook carries it. What bulb it takes The fitting takes one E27 bulb, for which the manufacturer states a maximum of 15 W. No bulb is included, so you buy one separately. That ceiling rules out incandescent and halogen lamps, because the weakest commonly sold E27 versions of either start at 25 W — only LED sources fit this fitting, and you choose colour and brightness yourself. The white shade is opal and opaque: the bulb is not visible through the glass, so its shape does not matter, and light leaves diffused downwards and as a soft glow through the walls of the cone. The fitting runs on 230 V and is intended for indoor use only. Build and the other DOMINO versions The manufacturer states steel and glass. The collar above the shade carries a wood-grain pattern in a grey-brown tone — the only element that breaks up the black metal and white glass. In the same size DOMINO also comes with a clear and with a smoked shade, and beyond that in two- and three-light versions on a bar.
