MIG BLACK GOLD is a ceiling lamp fixed straight to the ceiling: three rigid arms, bent into loops, come out of a round black base plate and carry gold shades made of bent wire. The whole fitting spans 70 × 70 cm and drops 34 cm below the ceiling.How much room it takes under the ceilingThe lamp hangs from no cables or chain — it is bolted flat to the ceiling and reaches only 34 cm down. That makes it workable in a room of normal height, including places where a pendant would be in the way. The 70 cm span is the figure to compare with the space above your table or in the middle of the room: the arms reach sideways, so this fitting needs clearance horizontally rather than vertically.The three shades are not the same size — two larger ones face each other on the longer arms, while the third, smaller one points to the side. Gross weight is 2.5 kg.Which bulbs you needThe lamp has three E27 sockets and bulbs are not included, so they have to be bought separately. The maker gives 60 W as the maximum per bulb, which is no constraint with LED: three bulbs of around 800 lm each, the equivalent of the old 60 W lamp, give an ordinary room its main light.The shades are open cages of bent wire, so the bulb shows through them completely. That decides the choice of bulb: you pick the light colour and the look of the glass yourself, and a decorative filament bulb becomes part of the fitting rather than a hidden detail. An open wire shade does not diffuse the light — it throws the pattern of the wire onto the ceiling and walls as shadow.Build and installationThe frame is black metal; the shades are metal too, in gold. No dimmer is built in — whether the light can be dimmed depends on the bulb and on a dimmer in the circuit.
