UNICA WHITE is a pendant lamp for five E27 lamps. Five white braided cords run down from a single round ceiling rose, each ending in a white metal lampholder with a stepped, cylindrical shape. There is no shade — the bulb itself stays visible. How it is hung and how much room it takes The manufacturer gives the same range for length, width and height: 40 to 180 cm. Those are not three dimensions of a rigid body but the spread the cords can be taken to — the five drops hook into the ceiling at points you choose, so the lamp occupies exactly the area you give it. Over a dining table with a 75 cm top, the bulbs usually sit 70–80 cm above the surface. With a spread reaching 180 cm the five points can be drawn out along a long table or gathered into a tight cluster over one spot; that is decided at installation, not at purchase. What bulbs it needs The lampholders take an E27 thread, and the manufacturer states a maximum of 60 W per holder — that is a ceiling for the bulb, not the lamp's power draw. Five bulbs have to be bought separately, as none is included. Because there is no shade, the bulb is a visible component and its shape and glass colour decide how the whole thing looks. The manufacturer's photograph shows decorative amber-glass bulbs fitted: they demonstrate the effect but are not part of the delivery. Build and where it may hang The frame and the lampholders are metal in white, and the cords are the same shade. Gross weight is 2.6 kg spread over five drops and one ceiling rose, so the load on any single fixing point is small. An IP20 rating means a fitting for dry interiors only — it is not intended for a terrace, an outdoor canopy or a shower zone. Light comes straight off the exposed bulbs with no diffusing shade, so on low-hung drops a frosted envelope limits glare better than a clear one.Show more
