Ground anchor 1231 is a Norlys steel foundation base that a garden luminaire is mounted onto. It stands 59 cm tall and consists of a 50 mm diameter tube finished at the top with a round 200 mm flange carrying four threaded studs, and at the bottom with a second plate. The steel is hot-dip galvanized with no paint coat, which is where the matt, silver-grey tone comes from. The luminaire itself is sold separately. The box holds the anchor and the assembly instructions only: no lamp, no light source and no supply cable. The part contains no electrical components at all, so there is no voltage or wattage to match either. Dimensions and setting it in place The anchor occupies 20 × 20 cm in plan and measures 59 cm in height — the figure to compare against the depth of the hole you are digging for the luminaire. It weighs 2.5 kg, or 2.9 kg in its 21 × 21.5 × 60 cm carton, so one person can carry it unaided. The tube is hollow, the flange has a central opening and an elongated slot is cut into the tube wall. Build and outdoor service Hot-dip galvanizing coats the steel with zinc on both faces of the sheet, on the cut edges and inside the tube — the places a paint coat never reaches and where the part is in permanent contact with damp soil. The manufacturer gives the anchor a 25-year anti-corrosion warranty. The ambient temperature range stated by the manufacturer runs from −20 to +45 °C, covering a Central European winter as well as summer heating of the ground.
