The Moss in size S is a stoneware planter shaped as a truncated cone: 17 × 17 cm at its widest and 18.5 cm tall. A dark green glossy glaze covers the upper two thirds and ends in an uneven, dripping line; below it the raw, sandy-grey stoneware is left unglazed. Hence the name of the colourway — concrete green. How big it is and where it will stand The planter takes up a 17 × 17 cm square — the figure to compare with the depth of the shelf, chest or sill you have in mind. The body narrows towards the bottom, so the base meets the surface over a smaller area than the rim. The opening is 17 cm across and that is what decides what goes inside: compare it with the diameter of the plastic nursery pot the plant came in. At 18.5 cm tall the manufacturer intends it for plants with a small root ball — herbs, succulents, small potted flowers. Stoneware and a hand-finished surface The material is stoneware, clay fired high enough to vitrify the body — the wall is hard as a result and does not soak up water the way raw terracotta does, including across the unglazed lower section. Each piece is shaped individually, so the shade of green, the reach of the glaze and the texture differ from one to the next; the photograph shows one piece, not a template. Where the manufacturer intends it to be used The product sheet gives indoor use and nothing else.
