The Explore 3 is a ceiling rail carrying three spotlights. Three cylindrical heads 5.5 cm across sit on a white 48 cm rod, each on a short chromed arm. The rail fixes to a round 9 cm canopy.How much room it takes and how it aimsThe fitting is 48 cm long and drops 16.4 cm below the ceiling — that is the height of the heads with their arms. It weighs 0.54 kg, so the load on the fixing is small; on a plasterboard ceiling the canopy still has to be anchored into the supporting structure.Each head tilts through 90° and turns through 320°. That is what this kind of fitting is bought for: the three beams are aimed separately instead of one light being spread across the whole room.Which lamps to buy for itThe rail has three GU10 sockets and no lamps are included. The manufacturer caps the power at 7 W per socket in LED form. With this cap the beam angle of the lamp decides the result: narrow, around 36°, puts a defined pool on a single object; wide, around 100–120°, lights a larger stretch of wall or worktop.Nordlux states outright that the fitting cannot be dimmed — a dimmer on the circuit will not work whichever lamps are fitted.Build and connectionRod and heads are metal finished in white RAL 9016, and the manufacturer gives the lampholders as ceramic. The arms are chromed and are the only contrasting element on the white body.The luminaire is protection class 1, so it needs an earth conductor. The manufacturer specifies it for indoor use only and states that the rails cannot be connected in parallel — each one needs its own supply.Where it fitsThe shape is plain: a thin rod, three identical cylinders, no ornament. The manufacturer describes the design as contemporary and simple.
