Orb in its three-light version is a black bar 120 cm long, with three mouth-blown glass globes 30 cm across hanging beneath it on separate cables. In this variant two of them are glass with a gold gradient and one is smoked. A slot runs along the bar, and the globe fixings slide along it. How to space it over a table The bar measures 120 cm long and 10 cm wide, and stands 4 cm below the ceiling. Compare those 120 cm with the length of the table top: over a table shorter than the bar, the outer globes hang past its edge. The slot lets you space the globes evenly or push them closer together. The suspension reaches 150 cm at most, and each globe's cable is shortened during installation — individually, so the three globes can hang at different heights. Above a table the lower edge of the glass usually sits 70–80 cm above the top. Which bulbs you have to buy The fitting has three E27 lampholders and the manufacturer gives 40 W as the maximum per holder. Bulbs are not supplied, so colour and brightness are yours to choose — three lamps of about 800 lm each give light comparable to three old 60 W incandescent bulbs. The lampholder sits inside the globe, so the bulb has to pass through the opening in the glass: with wide decorative envelopes it is worth checking the dimension before buying. The manufacturer states the fitting can be dimmed, but only with bulbs described as dimmable and a dimmer in the circuit. Materials and where it fits The globes are mouth-blown, so the pattern of the colour gradient differs from piece to piece. The bar and the cables are black metal. The fitting is protection class I, which means it needs a connection to wiring with an earth conductor. s.luce intends it over a dining table, over a kitchen island, in the living room and in the bedroom.
