SHOW is a wall-mounted spotlight from the Czech brand Rendl. A chrome head 8.6 cm long sits on a white gooseneck that emerges from a chrome half-round base screwed to the wall. A toggle switch sits at the bottom of the base. The arm and its reach The gooseneck is 26.7 cm long and holds whatever shape you bend it into — it does not spring back. With the head, that gives roughly 35 cm, the furthest the light can be taken from the wall. Straightened upright, the fitting measures 47 cm. The base is 6.8 cm wide and projects 3 cm from the wall, so the fitting takes no room beside a bed or in a narrow passage. It weighs 0.42 kg. The light it gives The LED is built in permanently: 3 W, 240 lm, 3000 K and Ra 80. It cannot be replaced, so the light it makes is fixed for the life of the fitting — but the source is included and the lamp works the moment it is wired in. 240 lm is a spot output, not a general one: under a third of an old 60 W bulb, but concentrated by the narrow head onto one place. It is light for reading in bed or for picking out one part of a wall, not for lighting a room. 3000 K is warm and slightly yellow, and Ra 80 is enough for reading, though not for judging shades of colour. Wiring and operation The driver is built in and the fitting wires straight to 230 V — no room needs to be found for a separate transformer. The switch is the lever on the fitting itself, so the light is turned off at the bed rather than at the door.
