Pure 20 is a pendant with a conical metal shade 20 cm across and 35 cm tall, matt grey outside and white inside. A slender piece of pale ash wood sits above the shade, and the whole thing hangs from a grey fabric-braided cable. How big it is and how to hang it The cable runs to 300 cm, so the drop is set during installation — above a table it is usually shortened so the lower edge of the shade sits 70–80 cm above the top. A 20 cm shade then lights a section of the table rather than the whole of it: over a longer table several fittings are hung side by side. Each fitting needs its own ceiling outlet — the manufacturer states these lamps cannot be wired in series on one supply. Planning a row therefore means planning as many electrical points as lamps. The fitting weighs 0.8 kg and works in protection class II, so no earth conductor is required. Which bulb you need to buy The fitting has an E27 socket and takes a bulb of up to 40 W. No bulb is supplied, so you choose colour and brightness yourself: over a table most people pick warm light at 2700–3000 K. The lamp can be dimmed, but that needs a bulb described as dimmable and a dimmer in the installation — there is no control on the fitting itself. The inside of the shade is white, so it throws light down onto the surface below, and the conical form keeps it in a narrow field instead of spreading it across the walls. Build The shade is metal with a matt paint finish and the wooden connector above it is ash — the pale grain contrasts with the grey metal and is the one element that does not change across the other colour finishes in this series.
