The LARISA R 40 is a ceiling light shaped as a shallow black cylinder 40 cm across, closed underneath by a white opal cover. The LED module is built in permanently and the body carries a switch for the light colour. This version, coded R14447, can also be dimmed. How large it is and how it mounts The circle measures 40 cm across and only 5.8 cm deep, so the fitting sits flush against the ceiling and takes nothing away below it — a solution for rooms with no space for a drop. The complete lamp weighs 770 g. Mounting takes two steps: a metal bar is screwed to the ceiling and the body is fitted onto it. The connection is three-wire — besides L and N an earth conductor has to be brought to the box, because the fitting is safety class I. The manufacturer also asks for at least 0.2 m between the luminaire and the surface it lights, and the manual warns that the cover is fragile and needs careful handling during installation. How much light and which colour The built-in module draws 50 W and gives 3750 lm — an old 60 W incandescent bulb gave about 800 lm, so this fitting lights a whole room from a single point. A switch on the body selects one of three colours: 3000 K is warm white, 4000 K neutral, and 6500 K a cold, near-daylight tone. The change is made physically on the luminaire, so the decision can wait until after installation. The light source cannot be replaced; the manufacturer quotes a lifetime of 20,000 h, and the energy label of the built-in source is class G. The driver is included and the fitting wires straight into a 230 V supply. Dimming works over TRIAC — a wall dimmer marked TRIAC or leading edge is needed and is not supplied. Which interiors it suits The form is minimal and modern: a smooth black ring with no ornament and a flat white cover across the whole diameter. The manufacturer directs this model at the living room, bedroom, kitchen and the dining table, and also at hallways, children's rooms, offices and retail spaces.
