The Borla PLF-63748-XL-CL is a round ceiling light 48 cm across that sits flush against the ceiling. The centre is a smooth opal diffuser with a fine glittering print, and a narrow embossed border with a geometric pattern runs around the rim — the only decoration on the whole body. The housing is white, made of steel and plastic. How big it is and where it fits The manufacturer's dimension drawing gives 480 mm outer diameter, 450 mm for the diffuser itself and 80 mm of height. Eight centimetres is the entire depth the fitting takes up below the ceiling, so it fits in rooms where a pendant would cut into the headroom. The XL is the largest member of the Borla family — the same shape is also made as PLF-63748-L-CL, -M-CL and -S-CL in smaller diameters. At 48 cm the fitting reads as one large circle, which puts it in the middle of a room rather than in the role of an accent light near a wall. How much light it gives and in what colour The built-in LED module draws 48 W and delivers 3360 lm. That is the brightness of four old 60 W bulbs switched on at once — main-lighting level, enough for the fitting to light a room on its own. 4000 K is neutral white light: without the yellow cast of 2700 K and without the bluish tone of higher colour temperatures. Whites stay white under it, which matters over a kitchen worktop. The manufacturer states the fitting is not dimmable — there is no remote and no app control, so brightness and colour temperature are fixed. The LED is integrated into the fitting. There is no lamp holder and no bulb to buy separately, but the light source cannot be replaced either: once the module is spent, the whole luminaire is replaced. Build and where it can be mounted The construction is a steel base screwed to the ceiling and a plastic diffuser covering the LED module together with its electronics. The fitting connects to an ordinary 230 V supply, with no separate driver. It is intended for dry interiors only: the manufacturer places it in the living room, the kitchen, the hallway and in hotel interiors.
