The Direct Pseudomonas tube is based on the detection of carbon dioxide produced by the metabolism of the organisms. The tube consists of a detection chamber containing carbon dioxide indicators, which is separated by a barrier layer from a chamber containing a growth medium and the test sample. The Direct Pseudomonas tube is suitable for testing for Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas spp. (non-aeruginosa).
