9000/BPU-D-B is a black ceiling base from the Stucchi ONETRACK system. It is a shallow round housing with a slot on its underside: the track adapter — the same part that normally sits in a track — clips into that slot. What it does and what it works with The base lets a luminaire with a track adapter be mounted straight to the ceiling where no track runs — over an island or a table that sits off the track line, for instance. The same luminaire can therefore hang on the track one day and on its own the next, without changing its suspension. The manufacturer lists compatibility with the 9009, 9209, 9409-4 and 9219 adapter series. Compare the adapter code before ordering, because Stucchi bases look alike and belong to different families. Supply and control The base carries one phase plus a separate control path. The supply path is rated 10 A / 250 V and the control path 1 A / 50 V in a FELV circuit, at a rated frequency of 50/60 Hz. A luminaire wired through this base can therefore be driven by a control signal, not only switched on and off. Build and mounting The housing is polycarbonate and the contacts are copper alloy. The part weighs 203.4 g and screws to the ceiling, so the installation outlet and a screwdriver are all the job needs.
