The MILFORD 30 is a pendant lamp with a shade of mouth-blown opal glass in a flattened drum shape with fine vertical fluting. The shade hangs from a brass stem with a brass collar at the top, on a white textile-braided cable that ends at the ceiling in a white conical canopy. How big it is and how high to hang it The shade is 30 cm across and the whole lamp stands 38 cm tall. That is less than the 40 cm at which a single pendant holds its proportion over a table 80-90 cm wide — above a longer top a row of two or three looks better, while one on its own suits a side table or a bedside. The lower edge of the shade usually sits 70-80 cm above a table top. The cable is 200 cm long and that is the maximum drop. The canopy is 12 cm across and covers a standard ceiling box.
