POLINESIA 7133 is an outdoor wall light whose shade is woven from PVC cord stretched over an aluminium frame. The fitting forms a slightly waisted square 30.5 cm wide, and the diagonal bands of the weave leave the bulb and the light passing between them visible. The cord is dark beige; the POLINESIA family was designed by Santiago Sevillano. How big it is and how far it stands off the wall The fitting measures 30.5 cm across and 27 cm high, and projects 18 cm from the wall. That last figure is the one worth comparing with the spot you have in mind — in a narrow passage or under an arcade, 18 cm of projection is noticeable. The height is fixed: the manufacturer states 27 cm and notes that the fitting is not adjustable. The lamp weighs 0.9 kg and mounts on a flat wall bracket whose fixing holes sit 60–80 mm apart. Which bulb you need to buy The fitting takes one E27 bulb of up to 20 W in LED. No bulb is supplied, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself — by a door or on a terrace, 2700–3000 K is the usual pick: warm light with a slightly yellow cast. The bulb has to fit inside the shade: the manufacturer allows the A60 shape, up to 60 mm across and 120 mm long. The weave is open and the bulb shows through the gaps, so a clear envelope puts the source itself on display while a frosted one gives softer light. The fitting is not dimmable and no dimmer is supplied. Where it can be mounted IP44 means protection against splashing water from every direction. That level is meant for a wall sheltered by an eave, an arcade or a balcony roof — in the manufacturer's own photographs the fittings hang on a facade beneath a projecting slab. The light is protection class I, so an earth conductor has to be present in the connection box. The supply is 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz. What it is made of The frame and the lampholder housing are aluminium, and the shade is woven from PVC cord — despite looking like natural fibre it does not absorb water or swell after rain.
