Highclere 94397 is a six-arm pendant by Endon with a flat drum shade 55 cm across, wrapped in charcoal silk-mix fabric laid in fine vertical folds. The arms, candle-style lamp holders, central hub and chain are finished in bright polished nickel. The six holders sit under the shade in an even circle around the hub. How big it is and where to hang it The shade measures 55 cm in diameter and 15 cm in height, and the whole fitting hangs from a 60 cm nickel chain with clear flex. Overall height adjusts from 35 to 174 cm — with the chain shortened, the fitting takes up little more than the shade itself below a low ceiling. Over a table, the lower edge of the shade usually hangs 70–80 cm above the top — compare the 55 cm diameter with the width of your own table. The fitting weighs 1.9 kg and is Class I, so the ceiling box must have an earth conductor. The manufacturer intends it only for ceiling mounting in domestic rooms, not in a bathroom. The screws and wall plugs supplied are for masonry — a plasterboard ceiling needs suitable fixings bought separately. How much light Highclere gives The fitting takes six E14 candle lamps rated up to 40 W each. Lamps are not included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself. Endon recommends E14 LED lamps for it and names the LED filament candle as the matching lamp. Six light points add up the output of six lamps, so the final brightness depends on the lamps you fit. The fabric shade is open at the top and bottom: part of the light falls straight down onto the table or floor, part goes up to the ceiling, and the rest passes softened through the fabric, so the shade glows like a drum. Dimming is not built into the fitting — it needs a lamp marked as dimmable and a dimmer in the circuit. Which room it suits Highclere is a classic form in a tidy, contemporary version: the candle arms of a traditional chandelier, hidden under a plain drum and without ornament. The manufacturer intends it for the living room, bedroom and dining room. The Highclere range also includes a smaller three-light pendant, a two-light wall light and a table lamp.
