DURBAN 7199 is a wall light shaped as a narrow rectangular frame 99.5 cm tall, moulded in white plastic – polystyrene. The light leaves the inner edge of the frame, and a rectangular mounting box sits a little below the middle. The LED module is built in permanently. How large it is and where it fits The fitting measures 99.5 cm high and 12.2 cm wide, and projects only 6 cm from the wall. That last figure is what decides a corridor or a gap beside furniture: out of 80 cm of clear passage it takes less than a tenth. At close to a metre tall it works as a vertical accent on the wall – compare it with your ceiling height and with the free wall left beside a door or a mirror. The fitting weighs 1.2 kg. How much light it gives The built-in LED module draws 30 W and delivers 2300 lm – roughly what three old 60 W bulbs used to give, so a single fitting lights a hallway on its own. 3000 K is warm white, and a colour rendering index of Ra 80 is enough for living spaces. The fitting cannot be dimmed – the output is fixed and a wall dimmer will not change it. Mantra states 30,000 hours of LED life and 30,000 switching cycles; the source cannot be replaced, so the life of the fitting is the life of the module. Supply and mounting It runs on 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz and belongs to protection class I, so it needs an earth conductor – a PE core has to be present in the back box. IP20 means dry interiors only. Mantra covers the fitting with a five-year warranty. Finish The body is polystyrene in matt white. The frame is continuous, with no visible joints and no ornament; the only element standing out is the rectangular mounting box that houses the electronics.
