DENIA LE62437 is a round LED panel made to be recessed into a ceiling. The disc visible from below is 30.7 cm across, of which 24.9 cm is the grainy opal diffuser. The white plastic body is only 2.4 cm deep. What opening it fits and how it holds The manufacturer states that the fitting suits a mounting hole of 6 to 25 cm, and the 30.7 cm flange covers that with room to spare. On the back sits a sliding bar with two spring clips — they brace inside the hole and hold the panel in the ceiling. That range is the main reason to measure the existing hole before buying: the panel goes into a small halogen cut-out just as well as into a larger one left by a previous fitting. At 2.4 cm deep it needs little clearance above the ceiling, and the whole fitting weighs 0.755 kg. How much light it gives and in what colour The integrated LEDs draw 24 W and deliver 1800 lm. An old 60 W incandescent bulb gave around 800 lm, so one panel is worth roughly two of them — light for a smaller room, or one of several points in a larger one. The colour is chosen from five settings: 2700 K, 3000 K, 3500 K, 4000 K and 6500 K, from warm yellowish light close to a filament bulb through to cool white. The beam spreads at 110°, and a colour rendering index above Ra 80 is enough where colours have to be right, at a kitchen worktop for instance. The light source is built in and cannot be replaced. The manufacturer quotes 30 000 hours, after which the whole fitting is what gets changed. Power supply and resistance An ON/OFF driver is included, so nothing extra has to be bought to connect the panel to a 230 V circuit. An IP54 rating means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, which is why the fitting also suits a bathroom ceiling outside the direct shower zone.
