The LUMINES end cap with catalogue number 12-2012-11 closes the end of a SILEDA profile. It is the Tall, no-hole version in black lacquered finish, fixed with two screws. The no-hole version — the closed end Within the SILEDA system the manufacturer offers the same cap body in two versions, differing only in the last digit of the number: 12-2012-11 without a hole (this product) and 12-2012-10 with a hole for the supply cable. LUMINES' own assembly diagram shows both together: the plain cap closes one end of the profile and the holed cap the other — the end the cable from the driver enters. When ordering, count one of each rather than two of the same. Which profile it fits SILEDA is a surface-mounted ceiling profile for two LED strips, with a 27.4 x 18.1 mm section and a 25.0 x 10.4 mm internal channel. It can be surface mounted or suspended, and lengths can be joined into longer runs. The profile comes in 1.0 m, 2.02 m and 3.0 m, made to order up to 6 m, in white lacquered (10-0331), black lacquered (10-0335) and silver anodized (10-0334). This black cap is the colour match for the black profile. Siblings and alternatives The same Tall no-hole version also comes in white 12-2011-11 and silver 12-2015-11. Beyond the Tall family, SILEDA also has standard aluminium caps (with and without a hole) and cheaper ABS caps with a routed hole. The choice comes down to how visible the end of the profile is — on a suspended fitting seen from the side, an aluminium cap does not read like a plastic one. Installation The cap screws on with two screws, so it stays put even on a suspended fitting and can be taken off when the strip needs servicing. Closing both ends is not only cosmetic: it protects the strip's cut edges and its solder joints from dust and from being caught accidentally.
