VT-8603 is a round bulkhead 32 cm across and 10 cm deep, white throughout. Body and domed diffuser are polycarbonate, and the CREE SMD diodes are permanently built in. The fitting carries IP65 sealing and IK08 impact resistance. Three colours, and what each one gives The colour switches between 3000 K, 4000 K and 6500 K — from a warm white close to an incandescent bulb, through neutral, to a cool white with a bluish cast. The choice is not only cosmetic: at 20 W the fitting gives 2500 lm at 3000 K, 2600 lm at 4000 K and 2700 lm at 6500 K, so the coolest setting is also the brightest. Even the lowest of those is main-lighting output — one fitting is enough in a garage, a utility room or a stairwell. The light leaves at 110°, and the opal diffuser spreads it evenly across the whole dome, so no individual diodes are visible from below. A colour rendering index above Ra 80 and a colour consistency under 6 SDCM mean that neighbouring fittings in a run read as the same tint. Size and mounting The fitting screws straight onto the surface — no opening to cut and no space to keep clear above the ceiling. At 10 cm it stands a hand's breadth proud, and a 32 cm circle does not dominate a corridor or a utility room. It mounts on a ceiling or on a wall. Where it works IP65 means full dust tightness and resistance to a water jet from any direction, and IK08 means impact resistance. That combination is for places where an ordinary ceiling fitting does not survive: garages, workshops, utility rooms, covered entrances and passages, and equally facades and terraces with no shelter. Construction and life The manufacturer rates it at 30 000 hours, about 27 years at three hours a day, and gives a 6 year warranty. The light source is built in and cannot be replaced — at the end of its life the whole fitting is changed.
