PLAZA is a floor lamp 160 cm tall: a rectangular shade in white textured fabric sits on a squared chrome column with a flat rectangular base. The switch is fitted on the mains cable. How much space it takes The base measures 30 × 15 cm — compare that with the floor space left beside an armchair or between the sofa and the wall. The shade is 40 × 22 cm and 23 cm high, so it overhangs the base; in an alcove it is the shade dimension that counts. The lower edge of the shade sits about 137 cm above the floor and the lamp stands 160 cm overall. Hold both figures against the height of the furniture the lamp will stand next to. Of the 11.2 kg, the larger part is in the metal base that keeps the slim column upright. Which bulb to buy The lamp takes a single E27 bulb and runs on 230 V mains; the manufacturer states a light source of up to 15 W, which is the range of LED bulbs. No bulb is supplied, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself: 2700–3000 K gives warm, slightly yellow light and 4000 K a neutral tone. Dimming depends on the bulb and the dimmer, as the fitting has no control gear of its own. The switch sits on the cable close to the floor, so the lamp is turned on without reaching under the shade and without unplugging it. Finish and the PLAZA family Column and base are metal with a polished chrome finish, and the shade is sewn from fabric with a visible weave. Rendl intends the fitting for interiors, as additional light beside a sofa or an armchair, or in a quiet corner of the room.
