A lens held away from the ceiling AROS is a smooth aluminium body shaped as a flattened lens 40 cm across, seated on a short central stem that holds it away from the ceiling. That gap between body and soffit is the point of the design: the disc appears to float rather than sit flush, and it casts a shadow onto the ceiling so it reads as an object rather than an opening. Overall height is 16.5 cm — a lot for a flush ceiling light, but that height is precisely the form. A surface with no divisions The body is aluminium in a white finish, with no visible joints, screws or edges — hence the sculptural impression the manufacturer openly claims, describing the series as "simplicity refined into a sculptural form". A large circular diffuser closes the underside: that is what emits, while the dome itself stays matt and reflects only ambient light. 12 W, 720 lumens, 3000 K — supplementary light The integrated LED module draws 12 W and gives 720 lm at a warm 3000 K. It is worth reading that figure soberly: 720 lm is about one 60 W incandescent, so AROS is supplementary light, or the light for a smaller room — hallway, dressing room, bathroom outside the wet zone, bedroom — rather than the main source in a living room. A 180° spread means the full hemisphere: light downwards and broadly sideways, with no concentration. CRI 80 and no dimming Colour rendering is CRI 80 — the market standard, adequate for circulation and secondary rooms, though below the CRI 90 wanted where colours are judged. The fitting is not dimmable: wiring it to a circuit with a dimmer will cause flicker or a failure to strike. Energy efficiency class: G. The LED module is permanently built in and cannot be replaced. Installation and safety The fitting is protection class I — an earth connection is required. It fixes to the ceiling on a mounting circle 120 mm in diameter, worth comparing against your existing back box before buying.
