The Genoa 170WH is an outdoor wall light built as a half lantern: a faceted body of cast aluminium, powder-coated white, that sits flat against the wall. Clear polycarbonate panes fill the sides, so the lamp inside stays visible.How much wall it takesThe lantern is 41 cm tall and 18 cm wide, yet it projects only 13 cm from the wall. Beside a door, on a terrace or in a narrow passage that is the difference between a fitting you catch with a shoulder and one you walk past. It weighs 1.75 kg.Mounting is on two ø5.5 mm holes 80 mm apart. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm² in round insulation of 7–10.5 mm. The luminaire is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor — live and neutral are enough.Which lamp to buy for itThe socket is E27 and no lamp is included. The manufacturer specifies an A55–A60 bulb shape and caps the power at 9 W in LED form — roughly 800 lm, as much as an old 60 W incandescent. Colour and brightness are your choice: entrances and terraces usually take 2700–3000 K, that is warm light.The panes are clear and the lamp shows from outside, so the shape of the bulb stays part of the finished fitting. A clear decorative bulb reads as a bright point and draws the eye; a frosted one spreads the light more softly. There is no driver and no dimming circuit inside, so whether it dims depends on the lamp and on the dimmer in the installation.What it is made of and where it can hangThe body is a powder-coated aluminium casting, the panes are UV-stabilised polycarbonate, and the cable enters through an EPDM gland. Polycarbonate with UV protection does not yellow and go brittle in the sun as quickly as plain plastic, and unlike glass it will not shatter on impact.IP54 means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, so the lantern may hang on an unsheltered wall — but it is not made to be hosed down.Where it fitsThe shape is classic: a faceted body, a pronounced roof and a tapering foot — the drawing of a traditional lantern cut back to half a volume.
