The Genova 170 is an outdoor wall light shaped as a half lantern: the body sits flat against the wall, and six clear panes form a many-sided shade at the front, topped by a small dome. The die-cast aluminium is powder-coated in black RAL 9005. How much facade it takes up The fitting is 41 cm high and 18 cm wide, and it projects 13 cm from the wall. That third figure decides whether the lantern gets in the way at a narrow entrance or beside an outward-opening door, so it is worth measuring on site before ordering. The manufacturer intends the Genova for terraces, entrances, garden pavilions and other architectural settings of a more traditional character. The bulb and the character of the light The fitting takes an E27 bulb in an A55–A60 envelope, up to 9 W in LED form. The light source is user-replaceable, so colour temperature and lumen output are yours to choose and to change later without touching the fitting. The panes are clear and the manufacturer describes the distribution as open: the bulb is visible and throws light sideways, up and down instead of disappearing behind an opal shade. With clear glass the look of the bulb becomes part of the lamp, so a decorative envelope with a visible filament reads very differently from a frosted globe. What it withstands outdoors The IP54 rating means limited dust protection and protection against splashing water from any direction — rain and splashes yes, immersion or a pressure jet no. The ambient temperature range is −20 to +45 °C. The shade is UV-stabilised polycarbonate, the cable entry is sealed by an EPDM gland, and the body is powder-coated cast aluminium, which the manufacturer backs with a 25-year anti-corrosion warranty alongside 5 years on the fitting itself. What the connection looks like The fitting is fixed through two ø5.5 mm holes 80 mm apart. The terminals accept conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and the gland a round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter — the figures to check the supply already brought out on the wall against.
