Selma LED is an exterior wall light from Elstead Lighting made to light signage and singled-out details on a building. The black body is a round wall plate, a straight tubular arm and a conical head set on a joint. That joint lets you turn the head and aim the light after the fitting is already on the wall. How far it reaches from the wall Projection is 717 mm. That is how far the head stands off the masonry, and equally the measure of how wide a surface one fitting can cover: the further out the head hangs, the broader the band of sign it takes in. The fitting itself is 208 mm tall and the head is 141 mm across. Selma weighs 1.5 kg, and all of that load goes through the single round plate screwed to the wall, so plugs and screws are chosen to suit the facade material. Supply is mains voltage, 220–240 V, run in through the wall plate. How much light it gives The head carries a built-in 16 W LED module rated at 2240 lm — close to three times an old 60 W bulb. That is an output sized for lighting a surface rather than for atmosphere. 3000 K gives warm white light, and a CRI above 80 means the colours of a sign or of render do not shift much under it. The module is integrated: the light source is supplied with the fitting and is not swapped like a bulb — once it reaches the end of its life the whole head is replaced. The shade is opaque and closed with glass underneath, so the beam leaves downwards only, onto the surface being lit. Where it may be mounted The manufacturer rates Selma for exterior use only. IP66 covers full dust protection and resistance to jets of water, so the fitting can hang on an unsheltered facade. Class II means the installation needs no earth conductor.
