Hadrian is a flush ceiling light with a cylindrical body: a round canopy with a moulded edge, and beneath it a one-piece clear glass shade held by four vertical rods between two rings. The bottom of the shade bulges downwards like a lens. Every metal part is finished in brushed bronze. Size and how it mounts The manufacturer gives a diameter of 196 mm and a height of 185 mm. The fitting screws straight to the ceiling with no drop, so it takes just under 19 cm of room height — little enough for spaces where a pendant would get in the way. Hadrian is a Class I fitting: the metal body has to be connected to the protective earth, so on an installation without an earth conductor it cannot be mounted as intended. The manufacturer describes the series as a decorative alternative to recessed lighting, which makes it a solution for ceilings that cannot take a recessed fitting. The bulb you need to buy The fitting takes one E27 lamp up to 60 W. No bulb is included and there is no integrated LED, so you choose the colour temperature and brightness yourself: 2700–3000 K gives warm, slightly yellow light, 4000 K a neutral white. The glass is fully clear and the shade leaves the bulb visible from every side. How the fitting looks, lit and unlit, therefore depends on what you screw in: a decorative lamp with a visible filament reads quite differently here from a matt globe. IP44, bathrooms and power An IP44 rating means protection against splashing water from any direction, which is why the manufacturer clears this fitting for bathroom use. It is intended for the bathroom and the hallway. It runs directly off the mains at 220–240 V 50 Hz, with no driver or transformer in between. The manufacturer gives a two-year guarantee. Build and the other versions in the series The body is steel, the shade is glass and made in one piece — there are no joints at the height of the glass. The fitting itself weighs 1.47 kg, and 1.63 kg boxed. Hadrian is a retro-styled series. The same shape comes in four finishes — antique nickel, brushed bronze, chrome and oil rubbed bronze — and with either clear or etched opal glass, so the version can be matched to fittings already installed in the room.Zobraziť viac
