This is a BASIC LENS 30 cover in transparent PMMA, supplied as a 1-metre length. It is not flat like the plain BASIC cover — along its whole length it carries a lens profile that shapes the beam leaving the LED strip. In this shape Lumines offers it only in the transparent version. Which profiles it fits The cover drops into the Lumines furniture profiles A, B, C, D, G, H, J, W, Y, Z, U, Q18, Q20, COSMO and RETO, and into the architectural profiles FALCO, GAUDI, FLEXA, inFLEXA, APA12, APA16, IPA12 and IPA16. Outside that list there is no point trying: the cover's groove is matched to a specific cross-section, and profiles from other makers have dimensions of their own. The same family of profiles also takes the BASIC LENS 15 and ASYMMETRIC LENS 45 covers. The character of the beam therefore changes by swapping the cover alone, without touching the profile or the strip. How much light it passes The manufacturer gives a transmittance of 91 per cent for transparent PMMA in this shape — practically the whole flux of the strip gets out, unlike opal covers, which hold back about half. The trade-off is that individual diodes stay visible through the clear material, so covers like this go where the profile is hidden or where you look at the lit surface rather than at the fitting. Lengths and operating conditions The section is 1 metre. Lumines makes the same cover in 2 and 3 metres as well, so a long run can be assembled with fewer joints. The material is PMMA, for which the manufacturer states an operating range of -20 to +70 degrees Celsius. The cover closes the profile from above and shields the strip from dust, moisture and mechanical damage, while hiding the mounting parts.
