The Harley SPL-3480-2-GR-GD is a two-light spotlight on a straight 30 cm bar ending in a round mounting plate. Body and bar are grey, and the shades are openwork faceted baskets: grey outside, gold inside, with triangular panels cut out of them. How much space it takes and where it goes The bar measures 30 cm, the fitting stands 19.5 cm out from the plate and is 14 cm tall. Set the first figure against the run of ceiling or wall it is going on, and the other two against how closely anyone passes it. Both heads adjust independently, so the light can go two different ways — onto a picture and onto a doorway, or both beams onto one spot. The plate is round and screws to the surface; the fitting suits a ceiling as readily as a wall. Which bulbs you need to buy The fitting has two E14 sockets, and the manufacturer quotes a 40 W maximum per socket — the limit for one bulb, not for the whole lamp. Bulbs are not included, and the manufacturer allows classic or LED lamps, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself. Dimming is possible, but only with a bulb marked as dimmable — the fitting itself carries no control gear. Supply is 230 V, and the lamp is intended for indoor use. How the light falls The shades are openwork, so light leaves not only through the front but through the side cut-outs, drawing a pattern on the ceiling and wall around the fitting. For the same reason the bulb is visible from outside and its shape becomes part of how the lamp looks — behind clear glass the filament or the diodes show. The gold interior of the basket throws light forward and warms its tone, so the beam leaving the fitting is warmer than the bulb's own colour. Finish and family The whole fitting is steel.
