The VALERIE 15342-17 is a ceiling light built from six wavy arms that spread out from a round chrome canopy. Each arm carries a frosted strip on its underside with an LED module behind it, so the whole length glows rather than a point at the tip. The metal parts are polished chrome and the diffusers are plastic. How much ceiling it takes up The arms span 67 cm and the fitting drops 21 cm below the ceiling. At that diameter it lights the middle of a room rather than one piece of furniture — the 67 cm is worth setting against the free ceiling area, because the arms are fixed and splay outwards. The fitting weighs 0.95 kg, or 1.2 kg boxed, so it needs no reinforced fixing. The chrome canopy houses the terminal block the ceiling wiring connects to. How much light it gives and of what kind Six LED modules of 4.5 W each sit in the arms, rated at 560 lm apiece — 3360 lm from the diodes themselves. That is roughly what four old 60 W bulbs used to give, the level meant for a room's main light. The manufacturer states the whole fitting draws 29 W. At 3000 K the light is warm white: slightly yellow, closer to an ordinary bulb than to an office fluorescent. The modules are built permanently into the arms and are not swapped like bulbs — the manufacturer lists them as spare part E0002079. Supply and where it can go The fitting runs on 230 V and is protection class II, so no earth conductor is needed. IP20 confines it to dry rooms; the manufacturer classes it as an indoor luminaire.
