LUMINES W is a recessed profile for LED strips, made of anodized aluminium in an inox finish. The piece is 1 m long and the section is 22 × 18 mm: the 17 mm wide body disappears into the groove, while the flange overhangs 2,5 mm on each side and covers the cut edge. What is in the box This is the bare profile. Cover, end caps, mounting springs, LED strip and driver are separate items and have to be bought as well — without a cover the channel stays open, and without end caps you look straight into it from the end. The profile comes in 1,0, 2,02 and 3,0 m, and as a made-to-order length up to 6 m. Lumines makes the same section in white lacquered, black and silver anodized and raw finishes too, so the inox tone is what tells this catalogue number apart from the rest. How it goes into a ceiling or wall The profile is pressed into a prepared groove 17 mm wide and at least 17 mm deep — that is the height of the body below the flange. In lightweight structures a set of mounting springs holds it, so no screws are visible once it is in; alternatively it is screwed or fixed with double-sided tape. Lengths may be joined into a longer run — the maker offers a straight connector, a 90° angular connector, a 120° angular connector and a transverse angular one, dropped into a milled opening. The profile is not drive-over rated, so it does not belong in a floor that is walked or driven on. Which strip it takes The channel is 14,4 mm wide and 15,3 mm deep and holds LED strips up to 12 mm wide; measure that width together with the adhesive layer. Light leaves perpendicular to the mounting plane, and the driver sits outside the profile because the channel has no room for it. The manufacturer states the maximum dissipated power of the LED sources: 23,8 W at a profile temperature of 55 °C and 32,0 W at 65 °C — that is the ceiling to compare with the draw of the strip you pick.
