SOLIS is a flat, rectangular aluminium profile for LED strip, sold here as a 2020 mm length in the raw finish - neither anodised nor lacquered, in the colour of bare aluminium. Its channel is wide enough that the manufacturer designed it around three LED strips laid side by side. How much strip fits inside The profile is 43 mm wide and only 9.3 mm high, and the inner channel measures 39.7 mm across and 6.4 mm deep. That 39.7 mm is the figure to hold your own strip width against: with three runs side by side the line reads wider and brighter than a single strip in a narrow profile. The length is 2020 mm, 2 cm more than a round two metres, so that allowance stays with you when you cut to size. The same profile is made in 1000 and 3000 mm as well, and Lumines produces longer pieces up to 6 m to order. Sections cannot be joined into one continuous run, so pick the length to suit the installation from the start. How it is mounted The manufacturer allows two ways: surface mounting - on double-sided tape or on the metal SOLIS clips screwed to the substrate - and suspension on a pendant kit, which turns the profile into a hanging luminaire. The driver goes outside the profile, because 9.3 mm of height leaves no room for it inside. The profile is not rated to be walked or driven over, so it does not belong in a floor. What you need to buy alongside The length holds no strip, no cover, no end caps and no driver. The WIDE cover comes in PMMA and PC in transparent, frosted and milky versions, with the PRISMATIC PC cover offered separately; end caps come with and without a cable hole. Uncovered and unsealed the profile stays open, which puts it at IP20 - dry interiors only. The thermal limit matters too: the manufacturer states a maximum dissipated power of 24.6 W at a profile temperature of 55 °C and 33.9 W at 65 °C.
