4300 lumens from a single fitting FOCUS MX4024-1-3WT is a 37 W LED ceiling light that delivers 4300 lm. That is enough to light a room of 18–22 m² on its own — one point on the ceiling here does the work of a chandelier with several lamps. Efficacy comes to around 116 lm/W, so a comparable amount of light from an incandescent bulb would have taken close to 300 W. The colour temperature is fixed at 3000 K — warm white, the same tone classic filament bulbs gave. That is a deliberate choice by the manufacturer: instead of a variable colour temperature you get one, well matched to living rooms and bedrooms, without the cool cast that quickly tires in a place meant for rest. The remote dims, and remembers The fitting is operated by remote control. Dimming is smooth, and the light has a memory of the last setting — switch it off and on and it returns to the brightness you left it at, rather than starting at full power every time. In practice that is the difference between a light you have to turn down again every evening and one that remembers how it is used. The full 4300 lm earn their keep during cleaning, work or cooking; dimmed to 20–30% the same fitting becomes quiet evening light. Worth noting: dimming works from the remote only — the fitting is not compatible with a wall-mounted phase-cut dimmer. Replaceable light source and driver The manufacturer states in the installation manual that both the LED module and the driver can be replaced by a professional service. Among fittings with an integrated LED that is not a given — many of them can only be replaced whole once they fail. Here the end of the diode's life need not be the end of the fitting's life. The energy efficiency class is F. It should not be confused with the efficiency of the module itself: the scale for luminaires is shifted, and the letter F here corresponds to a respectable result for a decorative fitting with a diffuser. Construction and mounting The body is metal with aluminium elements and a plastic diffuser, all in white. Aluminium carries heat away from the LED module — at 37 W that is what keeps the stated service life and a stable light colour intact over the years. The fitting measures 56 cm wide by 46 cm long and 16 cm deep, and weighs 3.5 kg. It mounts straight onto the ceiling with no suspension, so it also suits rooms with lower ceilings where a pendant would eat into headroom.
