MAGNUM 1125 is a two-light wall lamp: two arms curve out of an oval gold wall plate, and narrow conical shades of white glass stand at their ends. The arms differ in length, so the shades finish at two different heights. The metal is polished to a high gloss, the glass stays matt and opaque. How big the lamp is and how far it stands off the wall The fitting measures 44 cm high and 22 cm wide, and it stands 13 cm off the wall face. Those 13 cm decide whether it fits a narrow passage — in a corridor, compare the figure with the width you want to keep clear for walking past. The lamp weighs 0.85 kg. The vertical 44 cm is the measure for the free strip of wall: the fitting takes up noticeably more room in height than in width, so above a headboard or beside a mirror the space has to be there upwards. Which bulbs you need to buy The fitting takes two bulbs with the small E14 cap, and the manufacturer states 40 W as the maximum power per bulb. No bulbs are supplied, so you choose the colour temperature and the brightness — two bulbs of about 400 lumens each add up to roughly what an old 60 W bulb gave. The shades are of white opaque glass and taper towards the bottom. The glass spreads the light across the whole shade and hides the bulb, so the source is not visible from the side. Two light points also mean two bulbs to buy at the start and two to change later. Build and where it fits The structure is metal — the wall plate and the arms — plus the glass of the shades. Gold appears only on the metal parts and is polished, so it reflects the light of the room, while the white glass takes up the largest visible surface of the fitting. The manufacturer calls the style modern and names the rooms it is intended for outright: living room, bedroom, dining room, kitchen, study or office, and corridor or hall.
