AQILA RC is a rectangular wall fitting in an anthracite-grey housing measuring 19.8 × 8.8 cm and projecting 3.4 cm. A single light slot runs under the top edge, and below it the housing turns into a sloped face down which the light spills. The top wall is solid, so the fitting does not throw light upwards. A pair of screws closes each side. How much light it gives and in which direction The manufacturer states 200 lm at a draw of 6 W. That is about a quarter of what a traditional 60 W bulb gave, so the fitting does not light a room or a driveway — it is orientation lighting: it marks the edge of a step, the line of a path or the threshold of a terrace. The 3000 K colour is warm white, warmer than daylight and without the distinct yellow of 2700 K. The beam falls downwards only, into a band just under the fitting, so the mounting height decides how wide a strip of surface ends up lit. Where it can be mounted IP54 means dust-protected and resistant to splashing water from any direction, so the manufacturer intends the fitting both outdoors — on a facade, beside steps and in entrance areas — and indoors. Mounting is surface: no recess has to be cut and no back box prepared for the housing. The housing stands 3.4 cm off the wall. In a narrow passage, a stairwell or a corridor it is worth comparing that figure with the clear width, because a fitting mounted at knee or hip height sits exactly where you pass closest to it. Power supply and running it The fitting runs directly on 230 V, and the driver is built into the housing and supplied with it — no separate power supply has to be bought. It weighs 0.48 kg. The LED module is permanently built in: there is no socket and no cap, so no bulb is bought or changed here. The manufacturer declares 20,000 hours of operation, after which the whole fitting is replaced rather than the source alone — worth taking into account on a luminaire mounted on a facade.Mostrar mais
