ROPE is a pendant lamp built around a hemp rope with a knot tied into it roughly halfway down. There is no shade — the rope ends in an exposed black E27 lampholder, and the only other metal part is the black ceiling canopy. The whole fitting measures 120 cm and weighs 0.426 kg. How big it is and how it is mounted The rope drops 120 cm from the ceiling and takes up only 10 × 10 cm in plan, so the fitting works as a single point over one spot rather than spreading light across a wide area. Subtract those 120 cm from your own ceiling height: only that result shows where the bulb will sit and how much room is left above a table top at the usual 75 cm. The lamp weighs 0.426 kg and fixes straight to the ceiling. The manufacturer allows for two holes drilled with a 6 mm bit; two screws and two wall plugs come in the box. The wires connect permanently to the mains — there is no plug and no inline cord switch. The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no earth connection. Which bulb to buy for it The holder takes one E27 bulb, and the manufacturer states a limit of 15 W. That is low for this cap: a classic 60 W incandescent is over it, so the bulb has to come from the LED range. An LED bulb of around 8 W gives roughly 800 lm — as much light as the old 60 W bulb. No bulb is included. Because the fitting has no shade, the bulb stays fully visible and becomes part of the shape — the manufacturer suggests a decorative filament model. The colour of the light depends entirely on what you screw in: 2700 K is warm, slightly yellow light close to a traditional bulb, 4000 K neutral white. Which rooms it is meant for The twisted rope and its knot are a maritime motif, and the fitting stays in a vintage, retro and rustic register: no ornament beyond the texture of the fibre and the contrast between natural rope and black metal. The manufacturer intends it for the dining room, the living room and a child's room.
