Name: Aldex Melos Black Gold ceiling lamp with adjustable arms E27 50 cm 808PL_G1_Z
Brand: Aldex

Melos Black Gold is a ceiling lamp on two movable arms, built from metal painted matt black. The flat, dish-shaped shade is black on the outside and gold on the inside, and three joints sit between the ceiling rose and the shade — they are what let you set the arms and the shade itself in a chosen position. How far the arms reach The manufacturer's technical drawing gives, in order: a ceiling rose 10 cm across, 13.5 cm of stem to the first joint, two arms of 46 cm each, and 13 cm from the last joint to a shade 37 cm across. The overall size of the fitting is given as 95 × 50 × 37 cm. The two arms together measure 92 cm, and that is how far the shade can be moved away from the ceiling rose. Compare that figure with the distance between the junction box in your ceiling and the spot you want lit — a sofa, an armchair or the edge of a table. Over a dining table at 75 cm, the lower rim of the shade is usually set 70–80 cm above the top. Mounting and connection The manufacturer provides for mounting on the ceiling as well as on the wall. The manual shows the rose fixed with two screws and plugs, and a permanent connection to the mains carried out by an electrician — the fitting has neither a plug nor an in-line switch. What light it gives The E27 lampholder takes one source of up to 15 W in LED form; that is the limit the manufacturer states. No lamp is included: the manual lists E27 among the parts the buyer supplies, so you choose the colour of the light and its brightness when you buy the bulb. The dish shade is opaque, and its gold interior throws the light down onto the surface below the lamp. The bulb itself stays visible from under the shade, so its shape affects how the lit fitting looks.Mostrar mais
