The Riva Mustard is a single-light pendant in which a 14 cm sphere of milky opal glass sits in the lower part of a slim oval metal hoop. The hoop, the ceiling rose and the holder under the sphere all carry a mustard yellow finish (RAL 1005), and the cable is white. How much room it takes and how it hangs The fitting itself, meaning the hoop with the sphere, measures 43 cm high, 18.5 cm wide and 14 cm deep. That is the part that stays in view. The rest of the quoted 200 cm total height is the white cable, shortened during installation to whatever length you need. The manufacturer states that shortening the cable is a job for an electrician, so the drop is fixed once at the point of wiring rather than adjusted later by hand. Over a dining table at the usual 75 cm height, measure from the tabletop to the ceiling and subtract the 43 cm of the fitting: what remains is the allowance left for the cable. Which bulb to buy for it The fitting takes one E14 lamp, for which the manufacturer quotes a maximum of 10 W in LED form. More decisive than the cap, though, is the size of the envelope: Aldex specifies a narrow E14 bulb no more than 10.2 cm tall. The sphere is only 14 cm across, so a longer LED candle will not disappear inside the glass and its tip shows from below through the opening in the shade. The cap fits and the bulb is still the wrong one, which makes the height printed on the packaging worth checking before you buy. Materials and where it belongs The frame is metal and the shade is glass. Opal glass spreads the light across the whole surface of the sphere, so the lit bulb is never visible directly and the fitting gives soft light instead of a point of glare. An IP20 rating means no protection against water. The lamp is therefore intended for dry interiors only, not for the shower zone of a bathroom and not outdoors.Mostrar mais
