Thoro LEHDET black pendant lamp LEHDET is a large-format pendant lamp from the Polish brand Thoro. The name is not incidental: „lehdet” is Finnish for leaf, and the openwork, fan-shaped black steel structure reproduces the pattern of leaf veins stretched over an oval outline. At 110 cm long and 80 cm wide the fitting does not disappear into the ceiling — it is the element the rest of the room arranges itself around. An openwork frame that draws the room even when switched off The construction is open — there is no shade, just a mesh of steel ribs converging on a single point beside the lampholder. That makes the lamp work in two ways. Lit, it throws a pronounced fan of shadows across the ceiling and walls; unlit, it stays a graphic, flat silhouette suspended in the air. That combination is rare: most large fittings become simply a dark mass once switched off. The bulb as part of the composition The openwork form does not hide the light source — the E27 lamp you choose stays in view and becomes part of the whole. It is worth using that: a decorative large-globe filament lamp reinforces the graphic character, while an opal globe gives a softer, more diffuse effect. The fitting has one E27 socket rated at a maximum of 15 W, and the bulb is not included. Adjustable suspension The suspension height is adjustable and the overall mounting height reaches 150 cm. That allows LEHDET to be dropped low over a dining table or hung high beneath a living-room or lobby ceiling. The adjustment also makes it easy to build compositions from several fittings hung at different levels — the manufacturer designed the lamp with exactly such arrangements in mind, evoking leaves caught by a gust of wind. Steel, black, made in Poland The body is surface-coloured steel in black; the cable and the ceiling rose are black too, so the whole reads as one piece. The fitting weighs 7.75 kg, which at a 110 cm span calls for a solid anchor in the ceiling. LEHDET is manufactured in Poland and carries a 5-year manufacturer's warranty. The collection also offers white and gold versions, and on request Thoro will produce the fitting in any colour from the RAL palette. Installation and electrical data The lamp runs at ~230 V and 50 Hz. Its IP20 rating restricts it to dry rooms. The fitting is protection class I, which means the installation requires an earth conductor — it should be carried out by a qualified electrician with the power switched off. Where LEHDET works The manufacturer aims this model at large, tall interiors: galleries, lobbies, offices, hotels, restaurants and apartments. At home its natural place is a living room with a high ceiling, an open-plan dining area, or the space above a staircase where the fitting is seen from two levels. In a low, standard-height room a 110 cm span is hard to accommodate.
